The joint declaration signed by the European social partners in the banking sector on 7 May represents a step towards “the development of responsible and sustainable provision of financial services”. It places an emphasis on the need to provide a healthy working environment and to involve staff in order to achieve an ethical and sustainable financial service that respects and invests in its staff.
Entitled “Employment Aspects Of Providing Financial Services”, the declaration was jointly signed by the European banking sector social partners: UNI Europa Finance on the worker side and, on the employer side, the Banking Committee for European Social Affairs of the European Banking Federation (EBF BCESA), the European Savings and Retail Banking Group (ESBG), and the European Association of Cooperative Banks (EACB).
