Possible reforms. The European Commission still believes it is urgent, in spite of the reforms that have already come into force, to adapt pension schemes to demographic ageing and to its impact on public finances and the States’ economic growth. In line with the Green Paper it published on the subject in July 2010 (see our dispatch No. 100547) and with the following consultation, this White Paper suggests that the Member States use the following reform tracks to guarantee safe and sustainable pensions:
