On July 4, the Commission opened the consultation of the social partners on enhancing EU cooperation between the Member States in the prevention and deterrence of undeclared work. The European social partners have until September 20 to give their views on the possible direction of EU action. (Ref. 130465)
Undeclared work means “any paid activities that are lawful as regards their nature but not declared to public authorities, taking into account differences in the regulatory systems of the Member States,” thus excluding all illegal activities.
