EU: European electricity social partners set training as their priority

Eurelectric for employers and the EPSU and IndustriALL unions met, on March 15 for a social dialogue committee during which they adopted a series of actions on training and competencies. The social partners have been working on this for several years, with a risk of workforce shortage in the sector because of environmental demands and demographic ageing. (Ref. 130185)

Anticipating needs. “This transition towards a low-carbon economy will imply a complete transformation of our sector, strongly impacting upon today and tomorrow’s skills and jobs needs, and requiring massive power investments in generation capacity and infrastructures” the social partners wrote in the text adopted last week.
