Euro-demonstration. During the meeting organized earlier this week in Brussels, the members of the executive committee of the ETUC expressed concern about the severity measures European countries adopted to fight their public debts. The European trade union thinks that these measures are a threat to growth and consumption and increase risks of unemployment and reduce the European production capacity. The ETUC’s executive committee is also worried about cuts into service provision which have started in some Member States, which it says is a prelude to increased precariousness in Europe.
