The 13th ETUC Congress started today September 29 with the speeches of high-profile political figures. The Presidents of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, the French president, François Hollande, have reiterated their commitment to a more social Europe.
Europe’s unions can breath a sigh of relief if we stick to the speeches. During the Congress’s opening addresses, politicians successively commended unionism, labor rights, and a Social Europe.
