EU: gas social partners want to guarantee the social dimension of the energy Community

A few months after that of European social partners in the electric sector, the trade union organizations EPSU and EMCEF and the employers' federation Eurogas signed a joint declaration calling for the development of the social dimension in the Energy Community. Since the end of 2007, this Community, which aims at extending the internal energy market to South East Europe, includes a special chapter which European social partners want to guarantee. In their joint declaration, the European trade union organizations EMCEF and EPSU and the employers’ federation Eurogas highlight that it is important that the Memorandum of Understanding on the Social Aspects of the European Energy Community (which exists since 2005 and brings together Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo) is truly and properly implemented.
