On Friday 17 November at the social summit held in Gothenburg, Sweden, the European Union, as had been expected, adopted the European Pillar of Social Rights. To allow the Commission to keep tabs on its implementation, an online scoreboard has also been created.
Representatives from the Parliament, Member States, and the Commission officially penned an interinstitutional declaration establishing this mechanism, which is geared towards ensuring the effective functioning and fairness of labour markets and social protection systems.
