omen’s Rights adopted, on Tuesday, February 23, with 19 votes for, 13 against and 1 abstention, the report developed by socialist MEP Edite Estrela on the draft revision of the maternity leave directive. As in April 2009, they demand the extension of maternity leave to 20 weeks, paid paternity leave, and better protection of women before and after their pregnancy. (Ref. 100173)
