EU: new European summit to show mobilization in favor of youth employment

On November 12, French President François Hollande welcomed his European counterparts for a 2nd summit dedicated to the fight against youth unemployment in Europe.  Nothing new after what has already been decided – the primary goal is to show that European governments are mobilized on the issue, sending regular signals showing their regular commitment.  (Ref.  130697)

The first summit took place in Berlin on July 3 and the third should be next spring in Rome. For this second European youth summit, which took place in Paris on November 12, 24 heads of State were gathered, with a lot of Minister for Employment and Education, as well as the leaders of the key European institutions: Herman Van Rompuy (Council), José Manuel Barroso (Commission), Martin Schulz (Parliament), and Werner Hoyer, leader of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
