Test. Funded by the European Commission, the app is hosted by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (OSHA), based in Bilbao. Since 2010, it has been helping EU Member States and European and national social partners introduce new online tools to evaluate health and safety at work. Last year, COTANCE and IndustriAll European Trade Union launched the project for leather and tanning, listing key risks in the sector and the needs of the future online tool. With the app launched last week, businesses and employees can evaluate their practices by answering a series of questions, notably on the management of health and safety at work, the maintenance of buildings and surfaces, the management of emergency situations such as fires or blasts, the working environment, risks linked with operating raw leathers or skins, using knives, machines or even chemical products. With the answers, the app evaluates the risks and the user can then define a course of action to improve the protection of health and safety in the company.
