EU: Parliament adopts its negotiating position on the draft directive on information requirements regarding employment relationships

Members of the European Parliament in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs have agreed a position on the draft directive on “transparent and predictable working conditions” in the European Union, which seeks in particular to ensure that all workers – including those in the so-called gig economy – enjoy a set of minimum rights.

Negotiations between the European Parliament and the Council on the transparency and predictability of working conditions in Europe should be able to commence*, with member states having agreed their position in June (see article 10734) and MEPs from the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs reaching a stance on the text on 18 October.
