EU: recommendations to improve EWC participation in electricity businesses regarding CSR

Project. This report is in line with the project carried out by the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU), together with the Social Development Agency (SDA) entitled “EWCs – Learning and Practicing – a Project for the European Energy Sector.” SOMO used information concerning the 24 largest European multinational companies in the sector, namely, Centrica, ČEZ, DELTA, DONG, EDF, EDP, EnBW, Enel, E.ON, ESB, EVN, FORTUM, Gas Natural Fenosa, GDF Suez, Iberdrola, RWE, MVV, National Grid, Scottish and Southern, Statkraft, TenneT, Vattenfall, Veolia, and Verbund. To analyze more in depth union representatives’ involvement with CSR policies, the researchers decided to focus on 16 of these businesses, 12 of which got a EWC and whose members answered a SOMO questionnaire.
