The strategy presented on September 21st by Viviane Reding, European Commissioner responsible for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, is based on the commitments taken by the European Commission in the Women’s Charter signed on the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2010. These commitments affect: equality on the labor market, equal pay, equality in decision-making, an end to gender-based violence and the promotion of gender equality beyond the EU by pursuing the issue in external relations. We are mostly looking into actions proposed to encourage gender equality on the labor market and in businesses.
