EU: the 13th Congress of the European Trade Union Confederation takes place on Tuesday 29 September in Paris

The ETUC’s 13th Congress will take place under the banner “Quality jobs and workers’ rights and fair society in Europe”. The Congress runs from 29 September until 02 October and will offer a high profile platform for proponents of alternatives to the mix of policies currently in operation.

This is not the first Congress to be held during times of crisis. The 2011 congress in Athens (c.f. article No. 110331) focused on reactions to the new European economic governance that was being put in place and on the resultant structural reforms that targeted labor rights. However the 2015 Congress is being held at a time when the European Project is going through a major crisis.
