From September 24-26, 2014 the ETUC and the ETUI are hosting a major conference on “Europe at a crossroads. Which way to quality jobs and prosperity?” with Planet Labor participating as a press partner. The conference aims to present alternatives to today’s austerity policies and rampant unemployment.
After several years of political austerity, the organizers explain that Europe must be « set firmly on the road to a genuine process of reconstruction ». This new way forward has to be able to tackle the challenges of unemployment, labor market segmentation, precarious work, mobility, training, employment of older workers, and psychosocial risks in the workplace.
