EU: the schedule and content of the future framework on the anticipation of change and restructuring are taking shape

Significant shift in priorities. First act that sets the scene, the communication expected for October 27th on the industrial policy, presented by Commissioner Antonio Tajani, is already, in itself, a substantial turn in the European Union’s priorities. Thus, the latter should be reconciled with its industry, which it completely neglected, because it didn’t believe in its capacity to adjust to global competition and because it was too enthusiastic about this society of information and communication it promised. This communication is going to defend the idea of a European policy defending the industry in a very strained context of global competition and environmental requirements, which is going to imply major adjusting efforts.  It should bear the clear message that this industrial policy has to be combined with social and employment policies destined to accompany employees faced with these changes and ensure their transfer to expanding sectors.
