At a recent conference, UNI Europa Graphical defined its union strategy for the two years to come, until its next convention in 2015. Amending the strategy adopted in 2011, European graphical unions wanted to define their activities on 5 key elements: developing sectoral networks, multinational enterprises and collective bargaining, central and Eastern Europe, enhanced cooperation and coordination in collective negotiations, and European social dialogue. Develop sectoral networks. In 2011, European trade unions decided to organize meetings with union and workers’ representatives in special parts of the graphical industry in order to exchange information, notably about union actions. UNI Europa Graphical promised to set up two new groups for the rotary printing, engraving and publishing. To make meetings more efficient, research will be conducted on the sector’s prospects for each group.
