The ‘Starting a European dialogue on the platform economy’ conference held on 23 January 2018 evidenced a broadbased desire to establish dialogue. Thus the assessment by Thiébaut Weber, ETUC Confederal Secretary (European Trade Union Confederation), a few days after what was a first in terms of a European level event that gathered together a hundred or so platform economy representatives, trade unionists, experts, and politicians.
The January 23 conference asked the question of whether it was possible to ‘create a digital platform based economy that is financially sustainable, technologically innovative and socially responsible.’ What do you believe?
