EU: young people at the center of the European Council meeting of June 27-28
At the latest European summit, the European heads of State and government decided to adopt a “comprehensive approach” to combat youth unemployment in order to realize the “Youth Guarantee.” €6 billion will be dedicated to these initiatives in the two years to come. The European leaders also set up a new investment plan to finance SMEs, which are really having a hard time getting loans. These decisions were made as part of the 2014-2020 budget adopted overnight, which amounts to €960 billion. (Ref. 130439)
