The European Commission is proposing to exempt more small subsidies from the notification obligation under EC Treaty state aid rules. The Commission proposes raising the ceiling of the current “de minimis” Regulation from €100,000 to €150,000. Subsidies which do not exceed this threshold do not require prior notification to the Commission. (Réf. 06229)

According to the current de minimis regulation, financial support not exceeding €100.000 over a period of 3 years in favour of a given company is deemed to have no substantial effect on competition and trade between Member States, and therefore not to constitute state aid.
