The European Economic and Social Committee adopted, on September 13th 2006, an own-initiative opinion on the revision of the 1994 directive on European work's councils. The Committee favours a revision of the directive "within a reasonable period". This is considered as a provocation by the employers’ group committee, which, in a counter-opinion, says such revision is inadequate. (Ref. 06923)
