In 2019 the Amazon School was launched specifically for employees of Amazon in France (14,500 across all it French sites), and attributes successful participants with warehouse packer diplomas. Although only a few dozen staff have benefitted to date from the program, it should soon be provided to a large proportion of the company's relevant employees. This initiative comes alongside other Amazon efforts to attract more and more staff, including dual work-education courses and a variety of career development opportunities. The school program should also help improve working conditions within the online marketplace group, which receives a great deal of criticism on this very issue.
