This is the second series of employment-related reforms and follows the first that in 2017 addressed the labor law. On 05 March the Labor Minister promised a ‘big bang’ reform as she presented the contours of a reform that aims to streamline and augment State involvement in the system, which is being currently jointly managed. The Labor Minister also intends to strengthen ‘rights’ in line with an agreement signed to this end some days ago by the social partners.
Improvements will be made to the Personal Training Account (Compte Personnel de Formation- CPF) that was established several years ago as the medium carrying the individual’s right to training and that accompanies employees throughout their careers, including during jobless periods and which employees can use for training outside of an employer agreement. €500 will be credited annually to employees’ CPFs (the CFP was previously denominated in training hours) up to a €5,000 ceiling.
