France's data protection authority (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, CNIL) has put out for consultation draft recommendations designed to "guide organisations wanting to implement diversity measurement surveys, in compliance with current European regulations". Companies and employees have until 13 September 2024 to provide feedback to the consultation.
Although surveys to measure diversity are not prohibited in France, as the CNIL points out, personal data must be protected and employees’ privacy guaranteed.
