French insurance group Matmut has renewed its agreement on workplace equality with the CFE-CGC, FO and CFTC trade unions, though not the CGT and CFDT. Renewed on 3 December 2021, the agreement will apply between 2022 and 2024 and covers the feminisation of professions, equal pay, skills development, parenthood and the fight against gender-based and sexual violence. The company has committed to increasing the female representation in management positions, devoting €850,000 to closing the wage gap and implementing a mentoring scheme.
Even though the proportion of women in its management team reached 53% at the end of 2020, Matmut intends to increase this level to 55% by the end of 2024. Some 67% of the insurer’s workforce in France are women. To this end, female candidates will be encouraged to apply, particularly for senior management positions, and recruiters will be given training on equality issues.
