The social partners have reached a national cross-industry agreement (ANI) to promote the employment of 'experienced' employees. The text, which was endorsed by the employers' negotiators (Medef and U2P) and those of the CFDT, CFTC and CFE-CGC on the trade union side, should be transposed into law by the government by the end of the year.
The ANI provides for the creation, on an experimental basis, of a contract to harness experience (formerly known as an open-ended contract [CDI] for seniors), from January 2027. Under this scheme, unemployed workers aged 60 or over (57 by industry agreement) will be able to combine their unemployment benefit in full with an income, provided that this income is no higher than 30% below that of their previous job.
