The social partners managing Unédic (the body in charge of French unemployment insurance) completed negotiations within the deadline. These talks were closely linked to those regarding short-term contracts, scheduled to conclude by 25 March 2025. The draft amendment, open for signature until 23 March, notably modifies the maximum benefit period following an individual rupture conventionnelle: it will decrease from 18 to 15 months for claimants under 55, and from 27 or 22.5 months to 20.5 months
…France: social partners reach compromise on mutual termination agreements
On the evening of 25 February, French social partners concluded an amendment to the unemployment insurance agreement, reducing the maximum duration of benefits following a rupture conventionnelle (mutual termination agreement) and introducing "personalised and intensive" support for affected jobseekers. While the CFDT and CFTC unions have already announced their support, FO is reserving its response.
