Sick leave has been a topic on the government’s agenda for months. Faced with a rising tide (8% in 2021 as per the French Ministry of Health), the government wants to combat ‘convenient sick leave.’ It is proposing to suspend the payment of daily allowances by the health insurance scheme as soon as the company’s medical officer decides that the employee’s sick leave is unjustified.
