On 29 November, TotalEnergies management and the CFE-CGC, CFDT, CGT and CAT trade unions signed a long-awaited jobs and career management agreement (GEPP), with its predecessor having expired on 1 January 2023. The new deal, which came into force on 1 January 2025, reaffirms a number of existing measures and improves end-of-career arrangements for employees aged 55 and over.
The GEPP agreement, signed on 29 November by the social partners of French energy giant TotalEnergies, came into force on 1 January 2025 for an indefinite period and applies to the 14,000 employees of the common social base (18 group companies). Only the recruitment commitments (900 permanent hires over the period 2025-2027) and certain provisions, notably those relating to retirement benefits, will be negotiated every three years.
