Fresenius, a major German company specialized in equipment, medical and pharmaceutical services, will introduce to its shareholders a plan to transform its legal status during the next general assembly, on December 4th, 2006. In case of agreement, the negotiation on workers' representation will start on January 16th, 2007. (Ref 061050)
After Allianz, Fresenius is the second big German firm to opt for the status of European Company (SE). Divided into three branches (dialysis, blood transfusion and private hospitals), the group employs 101 000 persons worldwide for a 10.7 billion euros turnover. The company is present in 22 European countries. In terms of enrollment, its four main establishment are Germany with 29 288 persons, followed by France (2 269), Austria (2 301) and Poland (2 040).
