After tense negotiations, the Verdi services union and Postbank, a Deutsche Bank subsidiary, announced that they signed a pay deal, on the night of May 15, in Hanover. From July 1, 2013, the approximately 4,300 employees of Deutsche Postbank AG, Postbank Firmenkunden AG, BCB AG, PB Direkt and Postbank Service GmbH will get a 3% wage increase over 14 months. “It’s an honorable result achieved after two tough bargaining rounds,” declared Beate Mensch, member of Verdi’s federal board and head negotiator for the union.
