The two States have just been sanctioned, after the European Commission submitted their case to CJEC. The directive 2000/78/CE aims at setting a general framework to fight against discrimination on the grounds religion, handicap, age and sexual orientation at work. The CJEC has condemned, on 23 February 2006, Austria and Germany because they have not transposed the directive creating a general framework for equal treatment in the employment field. (Ref. 06178)
