tute (Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft), close to employers, and the Gesamtmetall steel employers’ federation published, on July 20, 2009, a study which shows that, in spite of the current economic crisis, German businesses still don’t have enough skilled workers, including engineers. Almost 60,000 engineers and technicians are currently lacking in Germany. This number could boom by 2020 if nothing is done to increase the number of students in scientific branches. (Ref. 090757)
