At the end of 2022, the German government adopted a bill that sets out to foster a more inclusive labour market. The objective is to bring more people with disabilities into the primary labour market as well as to encourage them to remain in employment despite their health problems. The push, which seeks to improve social cohesion, also results from an observation that the level of training and motivation among those with disabilities is often higher than average. The Bundestag is expected to approve the bill in January.
