On 28 October, the Italian cabinet adopted a decree-law on health and safety at work, aimed at preventing and reducing accidents. The text addresses both the powers and actions of supervisory bodies and the strengthening of training and prevention in companies. Specific measures are planned for the construction industry, which is considered to be the most high-risk sector.

Thedecree-law, which follows consultation with the social partners, aims to strengthen the culture of safety, particularly in the most high-risk sectors. The subject is particularly sensitive in Italy, where, according to provisional figures, 488 people lost their lives in workplace accidents in the first eight months of 2025.
