The IG Metall union and the Intex e.V employers' federation in the textile industry signed, on October 23, 2007, an agreement on the branch minimum wage which will concern about 30 000 employees. (Ref. 070887)
The IG Metall and Intex e.V, which represent 60% of the companies in the textile industry (industrial wash, services to hospitals and hotels), agreed on the amount of a branch minimum wage. “The sector now has an opportunity to block the unbearable competition coming from companies which practice social dumping”, declared Peter Donath, IG Metall negotiator.
