German bank Helaba, the parent company of savings banks in the German state of Hesse, has announced that it will pay a monthly sustainability bonus (Nachhaltigkeitsprämie) to its 6,300 employees from 1 May 2023. Although the bank’s management has made it clear that it will not be monitoring how the €100 bonus is used, it recommends that its employees use it for “sustainable” purchases.
