The Bertelsmann foundation, closer to employers than to unions, presented a study covering the 2001-2007 period and showing that only 7% of temporary jobs lead to permanent employment. Besides, the average length of a labor contract in the temporary sector is six months. And the average pay gap between temporary and permanent jobs amounts to 15%.
