etalworkers’ union, almost 14% of young fathers now temporarily stop working to go on a parental leave, i.e. approximately four times more than before the introduction of ‘parental pay’ (Elterngeld) in January 2007. The IG-Metall welcomed this new trend and concluded that men are not as ready to neglect their family life for their career as they used to. (Ref. 090784)
