After a very good 2006-07 year, the signatory parties of the "National Training Pact" - the federal State and businesses (see our dispatch No. 070213) drew a new positive evaluation of the situation on the apprenticeship market at the end of the 2007-08 training year. For the first time in seven years, the number of vacant training positions (19.500) exceeds the number of applicants who couldn't find a position (14.500), i.e. a difference of 5.000 positions still available.
