“Pact for apprenticeship”(Ausbildungspakt) was created in 2004, the signatory parties – the federal government and the largest employers’ organizations (BDA, BID, DIHK and ZdH), failed to reach an agreement, on June 19 in Berlin, on the objectives to achieve this year in terms of apprenticeship places. Businesses refused to formally commit to sign at least 600,000 new apprenticeship contracts for 2009-10, as Minister for Social Affairs and Employment Olaf Scholz demanded. (Ref. 090670)
