The Minister of social Affairs, Franz Münterfering, presented a report on the evolution of pension funds' accounts and contribution rates. This rate will increase from 19,5% to 19,9% on 1 January 2007. But according to forecasts conducted by pension funds, this rate should be increased again in 2008. (Réf. 06489)

During the Council of the ministers, on Wednesday May 17th, the vice chancellor and minister for Employment and social Affairs, Franz Münterfering (SPD), confirmed an increase of the contribution rate for old-age insurance – as it was envisaged by the government contract concluded by the CDU coalition – from 19,5% to 19,9% as of 1 January 2007, while ensuring that this rate would then be maintained at this level until 2012. Then, between 2012 and 2014, it could be lowered down to 19,4%...
