Germany: Sitech Sitztechnik, the car part manufacturing and a Volkswagen branch, signs agreement on temporary work in line with the parent company’s temporary charter
On December 6, the IG-Metall union announced that it had reached, after “difficult and lengthy negotiations.” A collective agreement on appeal to temporary work with Sitech Sitztechnik GmbH, a subsidiary fully owned by Volkswagen AG. This agreement provides for better pay conditions for agency workers, as well as permanent recruitment after 36 weeks in the company, and imposes that the company brings down to 5 percent of its total workforce the share of agency workers in its 3 German sites within 2 years. The IG-Metall claims that, this way, it has succeeded in implementing, for the first time, Volkswagen’s “temporary work charter” outside the parent company. (Ref. 130780)
