According to a recent study by the Center Automotive Research (CAR), one of the main German research centers on the Car Industry, the German economy's flagship sector, is on the edge of a new wave of relocations which could lead to more than 20.000 job cuts. According to Ferdinand Dudenhoffer, leader of the CAR (University of Gelsenkirchen), the German automobile industry is about to face a new wave of relocations and should loose 15.000 to 20.000 jobs by 2013.
