Germany: the conflict continues at AEG in Nuremberg
The social conflict at AEG, subsidiary of Electrolux, looks like it is going to last. Negotiations between the management of the firm and trade unions were again stopped Thursday evening. They were due to resume on Saturday. Confronted with increasing competition on its markets, the Swedish group Electrolux - number one in the world for electric household appliances- announced last December the closing of the AEG site in Nuremberg at the end of 2007 and the relocation of the production in Poland and Italy.
