Which are the most advanced regions in terms of equal treatment? Which are the least? Since November 4, 2008, the people concerned (citizens, local representatives, social partners and so on) can see their region's profile and compare it to others by clicking on the new website, www.genderindex.de. The German Confederation of Trade Unions (DGB), which set equal opportunities as one of its priorities, welcomed this new tool. (Ref. 080855)
Jointly organized by the Hans Blöcker Foundation, close to unions, and the Federal Office for Construction and Territorial Development, this database is a first in Germany.
