After a major conflict punctuated by several days of warning strikes at national level, the Verdi services union announced, on December 2, that it had signed a collective agreement with two Deutsche Post subsidiaries – Deutsche Post InHaus Services GmbH and Deutsche Post E-Post Solutions GmbH. With this agreement, the approximately 3,900 employees working for these two undertakings will get a wage increase divided in 2: 3 percent on May 1, 2014 and then 2.5 percent on July 1, 2015. This deal will be in force for 28 months, expiring on February 29, 2016. (Ref. 130761)
In addition to this wage increase, workers in these two enterprises will receive a single €200 bonus for the period between November 2013 and April 2014. “We welcome employers’ decision to resume talks in a constructive manner,” declared Andrea Kocsis, VP of the Verdi union, saying that it was a “good agreement” given the economic situation and employees’ work.
