The average British worker does three years and a half of overtime in his life, but half of it is not paid. The Clerical Medical insurance company publishes two months after the TUC’s report its own study on English employees’ overtime. (Réf. 06246)
According to this study, a British employee works 3,8 hours (3 hours and 48 minutes) extra each week, compared to the provisions of his employment contract. It is the equivalent of 25 working days per year and it represents an average 80.000 of pounds of salary which sometimes isn’t paid throughout the career (about 116.000 euros).
