The minimum wage for employees 22 years old and over will increase by almost 6% as from October, announced Monday the ministry for Trade and Industry, which decided to follow the recommendations of the Low Pay Commission. (Ref. 06276)
The minimum hourly wage for workers 22 and over will rise from 5,05 pounds to 5,35 pounds (7,3 euros to 7,7 euros), that is to say an increase of 5,9%. The hourly minimum wage for young people between 18 and 21 will gain 4,7%, from 4,25 to 4,45 pounds (6,1 to approximately 6,4 euros). For young people of 16 to 17, it increase by 10%, passing from 3 to 3,30 pounds (from 4,3 to approximately 4,75 euros)
